History of SLSG

The St. Ladislas Singles Group was formed in 1995 by a 20-somthing PSR Administrative Assistant working in the St. Ladislas Parish office.  She saw a need in the community for a faith-based group that would bring together young single Catholic adults.  After laying some groundwork in late 1994 with help from a couple of other young adults and the CYO office, the group was ready to roll in 1995.

The first event took place on Sunday, February 19, 1995 at Regal Cinemas.  A group of about seven people gathered and decided to see the movie, "The Quick and The Dead".  A St. Patrick's game night was held at St. Lad's in March, and in April the group went bowling.  The very first planning meeting was held in May of 1995.  The number of events per month has grown from one per month to about fifteen or more per month.

After the first year, the group had grown to a point where the founder decided she needed a board of members to help serve the group.  Thus, the first SLSG Board came to be in 1996.
